Increasingly popular, contemporary gates can be produced in either steel or aluminium
Steel Gates are more cost effective to produce, and with local fabrication, there is greater flexibility with design, sizes and availability.
Steel gates are heavier than aluminium gates and may encounter wear and tear complications to the mechanisms and automation over time. There is also the risk of rust occurring should the protective finish become compromised.
Aluminium is a light weight material, and is more expensive than steel. There are fewer manufacturers of aluminium gates in the UK so supply can be difficult and lead times long.
Many aluminium gates are distributed in the UK from abroad with set designs and sizes.
